The BMW R 69 S is the queen of sport bikes in the 1960s.
Superb, high-performing, and incredibly reliable, it’s the jewel of any motorcycle collection.
A model to keep, destined to appreciate in value.
The BMW R 69 S shown here is part of the personal collection of our colleague Hubert Rigal (former speed racer, winner of the 1975 Tour de France motorcycle race on a BMW).
This R 69 S is unique because its history is known and clear, dating back to its purchase new in July 1967 by a friend of Hubert Rigal, who sold it to him in 1980 with 40,000 km on the odometer. Hubert Rigal kept it for 20 years.
In 2000, it had 42,000 km. Then, it was sold to another friend who rode it for 2,000 km. Finally, Hubert Rigal acquired it in 2025 with 44,000 km on the odometer.
This motorcycle has therefore had only three owners in 50 years.
For a classic motorcycle, this history is exceptional.
The machine has not been restored; only the exhaust silencers have been replaced with period-correct Hoske silencers.
The machine runs perfectly and has always been properly maintained. It has French registration papers. It is available in France (Paris).
