The Honda NSR 500 is one of the most important machines in Grand Prix history.
With 10 world championship titles and over 100 victories, it is one of the greatest champions of all time. However, the NSR was a factory machine reserved for official riders.
Starting in 1983, HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) produced the 3-cylinder Honda RS 500. This customer-specific competition motorcycle allowed French rider Raymond Roche to finish on the podium in the 500cc World Championship in 1984.
A few RS 500s were sent to various importers to race their national riders.
The last RS 500 to be produced was the 1988 RS 500 W with a perimeter frame.
The perimeter frame existed at Honda (HRC) on the factory NSR from 1986 and on the 1988 RS privateer bike.
The German tuner Juchem decided in 1987 to produce a perimeter frame for the Honda RS 500 privateer bike.
This is one of two motorcycles with a perimeter frame manufactured by Juchem for the Hein Gericke team and ridden by German rider Manfred Fischer, who won the 500 European Championship in 1987.
