Following the book “Moto Rumi The complete history” by Riccardo Crippa, in 1954 Felice Rolla, an expert preparatory of racing bikes, decided to develop a Rumi prototype based on a 125 bi-cylinder Gobetto.
With the help of the factory, Rolla modified the 125 twin two stroke into 125 twin four stroke with DOHC.
The engine was mounted in a racing Gobetto.
Only one prototype was mounted by Rolla, and two more engines were transformed.
The history of the here presented prototype “Rolla” is known. Carabinieri Maréchal Grandonni, well known specialist and technicien at that time, bought the Rolla engine number 003 in order to mount it in a Gobetto. There are subsequently two Rumi 4 stroke Bialbero “Rolla”, the here presented is though the second and last produced.
This rare Rumi is available in Italy. |
