The Yamaha YDS3 is the third sporty version of the Yamaha 250 and was introduced after the YDS1 and YDS2. The YDS3 developed 26 HP at 8000 rpm with a top speed of 150 km/h and a torque of 2.5 mkg at 7500 rpm.
The YDS3 was commercialised from 1964 to 1966. Only a few examples were imported to the French market and we offer here one of the rare bikes imported to France in 1966.
Bi-cylinder two stroke air cooled engine.
Telescopic front fork.
Two shocks.
Front tires 2.75 / 18 and rear 3.00 / 18.
Two carburettors.
Tubular double-cradle frame.
Drum brakes, front and rear.
Weight: 159 kg.
The here presented YDS3 is entirely original and has never been restored. Only a paintjob was done.
A restarting job is necessary before the bike can be taken on the road, since it hasn’t been used in many years.
This is a true collector that will rise in value. It’s extraordinary and very rare to find a 46 year old specimen of the YDS3 in such a condition of preservation. Now available in France with its French road registration. |
