Claude Fior passed away at the age of 46 years on the commands of his airplane. Throughout his life he was an innovative genius with a phenomenal rapidity of realisation. He constructed several racing bikes with their characteristic aluminium chassis and special forks. A generation of race drivers rode the “Fior” bikes (Fontan, Rapicault, Guignabodet, etc.). But the most beautiful results were achieved by the Swiss pilot Marco Gentile, who was particularly successful with the 500 Fior Honda 3 cylinder in the 1986 and 87 Grand Prix season.
The here presented Honda 500 Fior is the bike driven by Marco Gentile in the 1986/87 500 cc World Championship. It’s complete but hasn’t run in many years. The bike has been repainted in the colours of the former sponsor of Marco Gentile.
This 500 cc race bike is rather rare (Fior has probably built three of four Honda RS 500). This bike is available in France. |
