In 1981 Honda changed direction with the new CBX. Originally the CBX 1000 was considered a sporty bike. Its frame and suspensions though didn’t allow it to shine in this category. For this reason and due to the fabulous engine capacity Honda decided to transform this model in a true street bike.
The bike entered serial production with an upper fairing part that was naturally integrated in the lines of the machine and new rear suspensions. The rear dampers were replaced by a Prolink type suspensions offering compliant and comfortable ride quality with a high level of wheel control.
This evolution has strongly reinforced the image of this street bike.
The here presented Honda CBX 1000 is one of the last models produced (registered in France in May 1984). Having only run 24,255 km throughout its life this bike was never restored. It’s in original condition and in excellent working order. This CBX 1000 is available in France with its French road registration. |
